almost three years after their release >lake<, odessa appear appealing their scene again. actually, their privacy breaktime should not have been a musical discontinuance, too. but as it sometimes goes things happen abruptly. although the ep >memory leak< already was pre-produced in 2009 it got just recently a detailed finishing. leave off the idea these tracks could have had their half-life already, not at all. odessa stay here and now, presenting reduced, cool-organic house with wide atmospheres. even though odessa music keeps ascetical aesthetics since the beginning a certain pathos can deeply be felt. once again, but just for one track (>l aurore<), frederique frankes exceptional voice comes to effect.

tin mans voice is infamous, romantic, an expression of love, life and beauty, but also slowly fades away, covered in sleaze. and so is his music, a melodic and rhythmically bass driven art work somewhere in between acid, house, electronica and synth pop. great. don t miss his album perfume which is set to release in spring 2011.

following up their brazen debut on nang in 2010 ibiza lord, pete gooding and chill capitano chris coco return with their follow up. this time they have enlisted the silky vocals of peter coyle, best known as the voice of liverpool based lotus eaters who made the amazing >first picture of you< in the early 80s. >believe< turns down the bpm quotient a few notches and sets the destinations for balearic.

with its intriguing melodies, strings and piano orchestration, >silk city< has got modern classic written all over it. nathalie is a jazz singer and the tone of her voice reminds of telepopmusiks >love can damage your health<. fred everything once again steps up to the remixes with a straight forward modern house production and a dub that brings back early influences of mauritzio and mood 2 swing. hope you enjoy the release as much as we do.

after the brilliant work with tigerlily on the digitaline track >say so<, gregorythme teamed up again with the lovely singer and created another epic masterpiece. >no time no space< has the potencial to become one of this years big anthems, with tigerlilys great voice, the catchy melody and the unbelievable synthline staying in your head for a long time! kalabrese and lee jones both kept the epic feeling of the original. kalabrese added his unique funk and kind of a caribic touch to it. imagine a lonely beach with nothing else to do as watching the stars out there. lee reworked tigerlilys voice, combined it with a massive bass and takes it a step darker into the night, made for dancefloors and big soundsystems!

kicking off 2011 with a killer e.p. is our favourite artist art bleek featuring a number of remixes from the new art supplies album released on loungin this month plus some fresh cuts exclusive to this release. starting the e.p. is a floor filling remix of clap your hands by our own trevor loveys. the original has been out for a few months in the blogosphere and has been picking up some heavy props. next up is hold it (a little longer) where art shows off his true talent of the master of the musical groove with a rolling bass and a choppup vocal lick to keep the party rocking. flip over to side b and you would be excused if you thought someone had swapped the record out for a disco classic. with vox by noelle scaggs and a harmony that nile rodgers would be proud of arthur creates a boogie classic that is very much flavour of the moment. following on is an exclusive remix of the hunt dance featuring the unmistakable voice of ursula rucker. the original on art supplies has had such amazing reactions that we all thought it would be hard to better it, but again arthur has done it delivering a groover for the heads. finally is right on featuring l.as finest charlie sputnik. art delivers a more techy grove to this classic which is a sound he is becoming more recognised for which contrasts so will with charlies trademark smooth vocals.

ryo murakami, labelowner of panrecords releases a new 4 track ep that contains a remix of lunch of god by stereociti (mojuba /from tokyo) which has a deeply atmosphere. next track is very deep and has slowly beats its a very dub track from start to end. the last track has a synth phrase and some voice left to the head is impressive.

this album is a first for nina simone. it features nina accompanying herself at the keyboeard. there is no instance of overdubbing the organ and some others dubbing her voice and of clapping and tambourines, but in this album everything is done solely by nina simone with no outside help.
